Darna Pelinkovac, also affectionally known as ”Rovinjski Pelinkovac”, is produced from essence of the Artemisia herb, commonly known as wormwood or pelin in Croatian. This product is based on a traditional recipe that originated in 1925.
The natural color is obtained by caramelizing the sugar in special copper kettles, and it is characteristic that it matures in oak barrels, which gives it a special aroma, scent and a distinctive quality.
The thick amber liqueur coats and warms your mouth when consumed straight. Pelinkovac is also enjoyed over ice, mixed with tonic water and it’s a great addition to a variety of cocktails.
